Our Team & Expertise

Flora Medical Global is maintained by the Flora Medical Global Botanical Review Panel — an in-house editorial group that combines formal botanical training, hands-on horticulture experience, and ethnobotanical research. We are not a single-author blog: every entry passes through multiple editorial hands before publication.

Botanical Editors

Graduates in botany and plant sciences who verify taxonomy, morphology, and ecology against Kew POWO, World Flora Online, and The Plant List.

Ethnobotany Researchers

Specialists in South Asian Ayurvedic, Unani, and folk-medicine traditions who cross-reference reported uses with PubMed and USDA Dr. Duke's database.

Horticulture Practitioners

Working gardeners and indoor-plant keepers who validate care guides, watering schedules, and seasonal calendars against real growing conditions.

Transparency note: Flora Medical Global does not currently retain a single named licensed clinician as Medical Reviewer. We make this explicit so readers can calibrate trust correctly: medicinal-plant content is editorially reviewed against peer-reviewed botanical and ethnobotanical literature, but is never a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare provider. If you are a licensed botanist, pharmacognosist, or clinician interested in joining the review panel, please contact us.

How We Verify Content

Every plant entry and article passes through a 4-step verification process before it goes live. This is the same process linked from the "Reviewed by" block on each article.

  1. 1. Taxonomic verification

Scientific names, synonyms, and family placement are cross-checked against Kew Plants of the World Online (POWO), World Flora Online, and The Plant List. We flag and resolve mismatches before publication.

  2. 2. Phytochemical & medicinal cross-reference

Active compounds, traditional uses, and reported pharmacological activities are cross-referenced with PubMed, USDA Dr. Duke's Phytochemical & Ethnobotanical Database, and peer-reviewed ethnobotanical literature. Unsupported claims are removed or labeled "traditional use".

  3. 3. Conservation & distribution check

Distribution, ecology, and conservation status are confirmed against GBIF occurrence records and the IUCN Red List, so range maps and rarity notes match current scientific consensus.

  4. 4. Editorial originality & safety pass

A final editorial pass checks the text for originality (no copy-paste from other sources), clarity, and safety notices — toxicity warnings, contraindications, allergy notes, and dosage caveats. Any external image or fact source is linked transparently in the references block on the page.
